Imagine a family, struggling to make ends meet, living in poor housing conditions. Every day, they wake up to a reality filled with uncertainty and instability. But then, imagine the power of your donation, the warmth and kindness of your heart, coming together with the hearts of others to build a new home for this family. A home that will not only provide them with shelter, it will help them build strength, stability, and the ability to become self-reliant.

This is the power of Habitat homes.

And now, with Giving Hearts Day approaching, we need your help more than ever. By joining us and making a donation, you’ll be helping us build more Heart Built Homes and bring hope to families in need. Let’s come together and make a difference. Your donation today will go further than ever before and will help us build homes that will transform the lives of families for generations to come. Join us today and help us build a brighter future, one Heart Built Home at a time.

Save the Date: Giving Hearts Day is coming up on February 12!

The kitchen is the heart of every home. Help us put more hearts into our homes this Giving Hearts Day.

This year, our goal is to raise the funds needed for the kitchens in the four homes we’ll build this summer. Your gift, no matter the size, will help provide a place for families to welcome friends, share meals together, make memories, and more.

And giving couldn’t be easier! Simply visit givingheartsday.org to schedule a gift today or give on February 12th. Of course, you can always mail a check addressed to Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity, dated February 13th, or drop it off when you shop at the ReStore.

Before partnering with Habitat, our world felt very small. We lived in a tiny apartment with hardly any outdoor space for my daughter, Lauryn, to run, play, or simply be a kid. There were few children her age nearby, and I often worried about the friendships and childhood memories she was missing.

Everything changed the day we received the call telling us we had been selected as a Habitat partner family. From that moment on, our lives began to open up in ways I could never have imagined.

Our home was built in a little neighborhood filled with people who welcomed us with open arms—people who, to this day, treat us not just as neighbors, but as family. My daughter now has friendships that I know will stay with her for a lifetime, and watching her grow up surrounded by love and community has been one of my greatest joys.

This home has also become a place of comfort and refuge during life’s hardest moments. Most recently, I was able to bring my mom into our home for several months so I could care for her as she navigated the challenges of Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Having a safe, stable place for her to rest and be surrounded by family meant more than words can express.

None of this would have been possible without Habitat, the volunteers who poured their hearts into building our home, and donors like you who believe in giving families a chance to thrive. Because of your generosity, our lives are filled with stability, community, and hope.

Please join me in supporting Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity this Giving Hearts Day. Together, we can help more families like mine build a foundation for a brighter future.

our builds

We’ve come a long way since building our first home in 1991. For over 25 years, we’ve grown steadily, building homes in six communities throughout Cass and Clay counties. To date, Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity has built 79 homes in partnership with local families.

current builds

In 2025, we are working hard to ensure we’ll be able to build 4 homes; 2 in Fargo, 1 in Moorhead, and one in Barnesville. We need your support to help make them happen. Please consider a donation today.
