we build
strength,
stability &
self-reliance through
shelter.
No matter who we are or where we come from, we all deserve to have a decent life. We deserve to feel strength and stability day after day. We deserve to know we have the power to take care of ourselves and build our own futures.
At Habitat for Humanity, this is what unites us. Through shelter, we empower. Our shared vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Our Builds
Since building our first home in 1991, we’ve grown stronger every year. For 35 years, Habitat for Humanity Fargo Moorhead Area has built homes and hope across six communities in Cass and Clay counties. Together with local families, we’ve built 82 homes—transforming the lives of 86 families, more than 400 people, including 273 kids. Our commitment extends beyond our region, with 48 homes built in underserved nations through our tithing to Habitat for Humanity International.
Current Builds
In 2026, we are working hard to ensure we’ll be able to serve 4 families by building 4 single-family homes. These homes will all be located in Moorhead, MN.
Past Builds
Since 1991, Habitat for Humanity Fargo Moorhead Area (formerly Lake Agassiz Habitat for Humanity) has been the leader in helping to eliminate poverty housing in our community by partnering with 86 families on their path to new homeownership. Throughout the years, we have built homes in six different communities throughout Cass and Clay counties, including Fargo, West Fargo, Moorhead, Dilworth, Casselton, and Barnesville.
Specialty Builds
Specialty builds can be created for all sorts of reasons: to honor a family member, to celebrate an anniversary, as a project for your service club or more.
Sponsored Builds
Your direct investment in home building is needed now more than ever! Sponsorships of all levels are available.
“For the first time in a long time, we get to dream again. My boys get to imagine having their own rooms. A yard. A safe neighborhood. A place where they can invite friends over and feel proud of where they live.
And I get to give my children something I’ve fought so hard for—a home they can always come back to.
Habitat isn’t just building us a house. They’re helping us build a future.”
